2026 SLOBC New Year's Ride
About this event
Once again we are riding from Shamel Park in Cambria to Ragged Point on New Year’s Day. The ride will start at 9:00am. This is a "show-and-go" ride for club members. There is no ride leader and no support. There are many groups departing at the same time and you can usually find a group riding at your speed or you can ride with friends. The Ragged Inn restaurant will be open on New Year's Day.
The distance to Ragged Point is 44 miles round-trip with a 2,200 feet of elevation gain. If you don’t want to ride the entire distance, there are many places to turn around including the Elephant Seal lookout or the Piedras Blancas Lighthouse which are about 24 miles round-trip.
